Well folks the judging of the quilts has been completed and we didn't win, place or show. But we are still excited. Our quilt will still be a part of the traveling exhibit of the finalists and we'll be a part of the book that the National Quilt Museum publishes. The first stop for our quilt will be in Paducha, at the National Quilt Museum, next Spring! Not too shabby for a project that was only started one month before the deadline.

I have more great news to share. The quilt that my friend Janice Roy and I collaborated on, Zen Lilies, for the National contest; New Quilts from an Old Favorite 2014 has been chosen as a finalist. The theme block is the Carolina Lily for 2014. I posted one
below. I don't think I can show you the actual quilt. So, here is a representation of the quilt that I made using my EQ7 design software. We'll be featured in the book that the museum publishes which features all of the finalists and winners. We should know who the winners are before Christmas. I'm crossing my fingers that maybe we'll win!!!!! |
